The Sad State of Software

According to TechCrunch, the top news story being reported on the web yesterday is that Facebook is/is not removing the word “is” from status updates.
Sure, I use Facebook as a quick status update tool, but I find this both concerning and disheartening. It’s just further evidence of the sad state of the software industry these days, and forces me to ask (again): Are Desktop Apps Dead?
