[CNN] Kurt Vonnegut, the satirical novelist who captured the absurdity of war and questioned the advances of science in darkly humorous works such as “Slaughterhouse-Five” and “Cat’s Cradle,” died Wednesday. He was 84.

A few years back, I got on a Vonnegut kick and within the course of a month, I had read everything the man wrote. He was a huge inspiration to me.

So it goes.
