Now that I’m going to be traveling a bit more, I figured I would upgrade my mobile internet service that I’ve been using on the Dash (the $19.99/mo T-Mobile Internet) to also include hotspot access with the full-blown ‘T-Mobile Total Internet‘ option.
This was on Friday.
Starting yesterday at 2pm, I could no longer access any data service on my phone. Every time I tried, I was greeted with an extremely helpful “Error. The Remote Party Has Ended This Connection.” error message.
After a few calls to T-Mobile customer support, the tech support person told me that “the code that was used to activate my enhanced data service had been giving them problems, and they would need to turn it off, then reactivate under a new code“.
I have no idea what this means, but 18 hours later my internet service finally kicked back on.

Speaking of Internet, did you ever find a new host?
I have been reading your blog now for a while, I think I found it through Joel, I am curious to know what programming languages you enjoy the most and which ones you have found most useful?

Unfortunately, no, I didn’t. For what I’m paying a month, and the few hiccups I’ve had, I can’t a hosting provider that I like. I may eventually just go with some co-located dedicated space, but I haven’t had much time lately to research it.
To answer your other question - I’m a C/C++ guy. I spent a few years working on Indigo (WCF) at Microsoft, so I did C# during that time. I also really enjoy javascript when the need calls for it….

Now that you have set it up correctly you actually can call them up and tell them you have a RAZR.. WHY? So you can ask them to change your full internet (which includes unlimited Wifi at borders and starbucks) for T-MobileWeb ($5.99/month)
You’ll save $24/month, and you’ll have access to the same internet.
(Except for the WIFI, which may be worth the extra $20/month extra)
