After reading several posts on the new Tivo Desktop 2.4 preview that was released, I thought I would give it a try on my Vista ‘media center server’.

Unfortunately, after the installer removed my (working) Tivo Desktop 2.3a, it told me that the new preview was only compatible with Windows XP SP2 and higher.

Sigh. My only choice was to roll back and reinstall 2.3a. How annoying.

Brilliant. Sounds like a bug in the installer script.

Reminds me of an old Mac Office uninstaller that (under somewhat contrived conditions) could delete your entire System folder.

Did you try running the installer in XP compatibility mode by any chance?

I think it’s a bug. But Daniel is right. YOu should try running the installer!

I did the same thing but didn’t have an old version of 2.3a to reinstall. Pls email me at kkasten@yahoo.com the installer exe if you still have it since I can’t find it.

I would also like the old version (2.3a) emailed to me. My email address is dharris706@yahoo.com. Thanks
