As the obligatory geek, I went ahead and pre-ordered Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War for the 360 yesterday at EB Games.

While I’m totally excited for these games, I had a bit of sticker shock when I was rung up. Sure these games look awesome and will be lots of fun, but at $60-$65 a pop the cost of these things is getting crazy.

I played yesterday Gears of War at the Xbox Experience night here. thats a really crazy brutal game. all games have short range weapons (knife, sword,…) here it is an chainsaw. what i don’t like is, that its not done for strategics, its just done for brutalness. you cannot see, how much livepoints you have left and you dont get the feeling, how often you have to hit an enemy till they die. but it was fun…

The sticker shock would not be so bad if they were brand new experiences and not just “Upgrades”. I feel like all the games are acting link Apple, were all the “Upgrades” are full price.
