[News.com] U.S. consumers were more satisfied with their PCs during the last year than they have been in more than a decade, but they’re still happier with their car dealers than their computer suppliers.

Well, dur.

PC’s (especially in the living room) have an extremely low Wife Acceptance Factor. Dedidicated embedded devices that are specific to a certain task (XBox, Tivo, NAS devices instead of closet servers, etc) will always be easier to use, have better reliability and have a higher acceptance with end users. And, they don’t have codec hell.
