Piles

[Ario's Digital Detritus] Have you ever noticed how much of life consists of pile reduction? Tasks where your sole involvement is to take the pile, let’s call that N, and make N = 0, where 0 is really 0, nothing… or some state of equilibrium. These piles constantly grow, your job is to knock them back down again — rinse, repeat.
The world naturally lends itself to chaos so it’s our job to create some kind of order out of all this stuff… with the hope that a sense of fulfillment arises out of the pile reduction effort. The thinking is that located within that pile, there is something that will benefit you or someone else (and with some piles, we don’t have any say in the matter).
Great read about life, piles and flow state.

I always thought that piles were something that developed on a woman pending middle-age after she had too many kids….
