Does anyone know of a UPNP or DLNA client application for Mac?

No matter what I try to do with regards to setting up a central media server, there always seems to be one "client" that doesn’t want to play nice. Now that I have Media Center running on the server (on which I’m running the Netgear AV Media Server on it for UPNP content since I couldn’t get Windows Media Connect to talk to anything), the 360 in the theater, and a networked DVD player upstairs, I decided to ahead and add some Macs into the mix.

Of course, I could import those playlists and movies into iTunes, iPhoto, etc., or just view the folders over FrontRow, but it sure would be nice to be able to browse them like any other UPNP client.

Having not done it myself, isn’t is easy? :-) Seriously though, I think you just need to connect to the UPnP server via HTTP and “parse” the XML response.

Here’s one MacOS UPnP client, which I’ve not used:

And here are three UPnP servers for the MacOS. I’ve used the first one:

I’ve already tried VLC, but couldn’t figure out how to browse for UPNP. I’ll keep trying :)

Yeah, I’ve seen several of the servers, just no clients :(

You should try EyeConnect from El Gato… http://www.elgato.com

Connect360 as mentioned above is specific to the XBox

    Looking for a client.

Eye Connect and Connect 360 are servers. Thanks though.

Not a response to your question, but I am curious to know:

Do you have your Xbox 360’s connected to a UPnP server or just to a Media Center PC?

Per a prior comment I have 4 360’s connected to a Media Center PC, but wish I could connect them to a my UPnP server (J River’s Media Center) instead. Two big reasons for this: (i) JRMC has many more features and is more customizable than either MCE or WMC; and (ii) I have a variety of UPnP music players from Ruku and I’d like to be able to keep just one library.

The 360 can connect to a UPNP server for photos and music only. You HAVE to connect to a MCE in order to do video.

Right now, mine is connected to the Netgear AV UPNP server for audio/photos from the dashboard, and MCE for the extender/video functionality.

I’m looking for a client as well.
Eyeconnect seems to work as a server.
