A Fish Named “Train”

Yesterday, we added a new member to the family - a Betta fish named "Train".
How did the fish get such an unusual name? Well, Tyler got to choose a present for going on the "big-boy" potty 3 times, so he wanted to get a fish. At first, he really insisted that he really wanted an octopus, but Liz and I managed to convince him that a low maintenance fish, in a very low maintenance bowl, was really the best option.
So we ran over to Petco yesterday, and Tyler picked out his new friend. He promptly named the blue and white Betta fish "Train".
We’ve decided that Tyler won’t be picking our next child’s name (who, he’s already said he’d like him to be named "Truck").
Kids are a hoot

Maybe he said “Trane” as in “Coltrane”. Your son want’s the fish to be named after John Coltrane.
Play “Giant Steps” for the fish and see if it does anything interesting.
Hip kid!

Reggie - you probably hit the nail on the head - he LOVES Thomas (although Bob the Builder is taking over recently).
Duh. I can’t believe I missed that.

My son (at 4) said we should name his little sister “House”
Eventually he changed his mind to “Bubble”, which is much better but we still didn’t go with it
