When I see articles such as "10 Places You Must Use Ajax" my initial reaction is the only place you really need AJAX is to cut through grease so you can get those dishes sparkling clean.
Colgate, I beg you: please sue someone for trademark infringement so we can rid the world of this lousy acronym.
On a similar note, I recently found where Web 2.0 comes from.

Yes, God forbid AJAX was to out-hype “.NET”.
Remember when they were going to call the operating system “Microsoft .NET Server”?
Oh, and Java was never over-hyped now, was it?
