[The Unofficial Apple Weblog] Basically, it allows you to put a completely functional version of the Macintosh operating system (in this case, system 7.0.1) onto a USB flash memory device.
Randy sent this to me, knowing my fondness for USB keychain based OS’s. More information can be found here.

In that case, check out http://ids.surfnet.nl/index.php. SURFnet is the Dutch National Research Network and they are sponsoring a project called the ‘SURFnet-IDS project’. The idea behind that project is basically that you want to be able to run intrusion detection systems on ’spare’ hardware. To achieve that goal, they created a USB stick that, when booted from, converts your PC into a full-fledged IDS. Of course, without touching the hard disk at all.
