    hiya steve,

i d/l-ed vcl-0.8.4, in a zip file, extracted all the files into a new folder on my desktop, then double clicked the .exe and presto! my logitech cordless optical trackman slowed down to zero and died altogether.

first i rebooted, but still had no trackman. using keyboard manipulation, i looked for but didnt find an uninstall for the vcl-0.8, so just deleted everything i could find– including a folder in the application data folder.

i uninstalled/re-installed trackman using the uninstaller in the control panel of my windows ME OS, still no trackman. i attempted to do a system restore to an earlier date and whammo! the system restore facility couldnt work! used several dates, to no avail.

i’m now using a standard ps/2 port mouse. what the hell happened?? i’m going to email you this message, in case you dont get to see it here.
