FrontRow

By now, everyone’s heard about the video iPod that was announced at yesterday’s event. While some in the MCE community have already weighed in, I’m personally pretty excited about Front Row. Sure, it doesn’t do TV (yet) - but this doesn’t really bother me because: a) there’s so little on TV worth watching and b) I have a Tivo in the living room already, since my wife hates using my MCE box (see low WAF factor).
While I don’t see replacing my MCE setup in my home theater with a Mac Mini, I’m going to experiment with it upstairs as a way to get my movies off the server to our bedroom (if Front Row is made available for the mini, that is). Don’t get me wrong though: I love my MCE setup for my theater. I just need to figure out the best way to shoot content around the rest of the house.
I do agree with John Ludwig though - Apple needs HD content up there if it’s going to be a permanent fixture in my audio/video closet.
