[Chris Pratley] We’re not focused on formatting fancy-looking stuff, and we are not suffering from command-overload. People can generally find nearly all our functionality since we don‚Äôt have years of features yet. As the UEX team says it: there’s nothing wrong with menus and toolbars. They work great for apps with tight sets of functionality that aren’t focused on visualization. Does this mean that OneNote will never see a new UI? Hardly. OneNote 12 actually has some new UI for navigation and organization…. In the future, the UEX team is going to tackle the problem of what non-authoring apps might need for a new approach to UI. That’ll be us.

I’ve been using OneNote since the first version - it’s probably one of the most useful apps I’ve seen in a long time. Check out his blog to find out more regarding what’s coming with the next version.

I would like to use OneNote, but I’m very much a PocketPC guy, and sadly their lack of interest in developing a proper Windows Mobile version is a deal breaker for me. In the mean time EverNote is very close to releasing their PocketPC version. I’m certainly going to check it out.
