Finally got out last night and got to see Batman Begins. Before I give my review, understand that I’ve been a long time collector of Batman comic books (yes, I even have first editions of The Killing Joke and Dark Knight Returns) and my feelings about the early 90’s Batman movies were mixed. I actually enjoyed Batman Returns the best because I felt it captured the ’spirit of the comic book’ - dark, eerie and creepy. While everyone enjoyed Jack Nicholson’s Joker, I thought it was pretty campy and over the top.

After the downfall of the series, I was pretty skeptical when I heard they were making a new film. But, I’m happy to report I was very surprised with the film. Wow. Awesome. Kicked the crap out of the other movies. Scarecrow rocked. They should have never made any of them in the 90’s. Forget what I said about Batman Returns - this is the Batman I’ve been waiting for.
