Now that it appears that Tiger will be available in the next few weeks, does anyone know what the upgrade will be for Mac Mini users? I’m not particularly crazy about that thought that might have to shell out another $129 when the box isn’t even a month old.

Usually, if you buy a system within 6 to 8 weeks of a new OS, you get the upgrade for like $25. I just bought, Yet Another G5, so I am hoping I get a $25 one. Of course, the dev builds have been fun to run, and I get a released one as a member of the dev program. But I have 4 other machines to upgrade, and being that I am an honest licensee, I will most likely buy one $129 copy for Stef’s PowerBook, and I get another for my work PowerBook via the dev program at the office. So, I most likely will shell out $150 in upgrades.

Ya know, this release is making me hold back on buying a Mac mini now, rather than later… I wish they’d announce policy before release like some other companies do - hard to plan for something if ya don’t know what’s coming. Hell, I bought my first iPod 72 hour before the 2nd generation was announced/released - sucks when that happens…
