Moments of Transition

I’ll start by apologizing for being somewhat ‘blog-lazy’ the last few weeks, but there’s been a good reason: After almost 2 years, today marked my last day on the Indigo team at Microsoft. The last few weeks have been extremely busy as I’ve been tying up loose ends, finishing writing up test cases for our Beta 1 test pass and preparing things so they’re in a good state to transition off to some of the other members of the team.
On Monday I start with my new team on the other side of campus. For the time being, I can’t really talk about what I’m going to be working on, but I can say that I’m very excited about it and that I’m going to have an opportunity to focus on some things that I’m extremely passionate about.
Be assured, the minute I can publicly talk about things, I will. In the mean time, I’ll still continue my usual ramblings about software, life or whatever else I choose on the Furrygoat.

“the minute I can publicly talk about things”
How does this work at Microsoft? Do you one day get an E-mail from a manager or someone telling you that features x, y, and z of product Q can be talked about publicly?

Depends on the group, I guess. In my case, the team that I started with is fairly new, so the work we’re doing hasnt been announced yet.
With Indigo, we knew when it was presented at PDC 2003, it was ok to start talking

Does it have anything to do with Windows Mobile?

I’m off to new lands
If only I could embed the Lone Ranger theme song, otherwise known as the “William Tell Overture”… I’ve been the managing editor for MSDN Online (and recently TechNet Online) for almost three years. Microsoft years are like dog years,…

Frank - No, unfortunately not.
