What’s the term used when you have a massive backlog of shows sitting on your cable DVR, Media Center or Tivo? I just noticed that I have every episode of the new Battlestar Galactica (which apparently Rory loves) and the last 6 episodes of ER just sitting in the ‘to be watched’ queue. Ugh, that’s like 12 hours of TV sitting there.

Tivo-Clog?

I dunno - I just figure there’s got to be a word to describe the condition.

KC and I are huge Battlestar Galactica fans as well. The new series is very well done, with interesting plot lines.
My solution to your problem is that I just bought a Media Center Extender for the bonus room, where we have an elliptical cross-trainer machine. I’ve been catching up on TV while working out every other morning or so.
My only complaints are that the extender can’t view digital channels (and I try to get things that I can get OTA HD that way, because the picture is so much higher quality). Plus, I actually get some exercise. I find that I can work out essentially infinitely at a moderate pace, if I’m interested in the TV show. That 2 hour Amazing Race finale was a bit of a killer, though - by the final foot race, I was really worn out, which made for more a interesting viewing experience.

What you’re talking about is a problem that I’m just now having to face. I didn’t used to watch TV because it was so time-consuming, but now that I have a Portable Media Center, I feel compelled to enjoy the occasional broadcast, and I’m just now realizing that I have many more shows to watch than I have time.

    And I’m scared.

I am scared. I was so happy when a few of ‘my’ shows went off the air last year - but I’m still struggling with the queue of stuff to watch.

Steve coins a new phrase: DVR Clog

Ah a high tech version of an age old problem. - My mother (aged 70+) has a habit of compulsivly recording shows on her VCR. She rarely gets to watch them, but she might!
The result is that she buys more and more tapes and by my calcualtion she now has 375 hours worth of TV to watch.
At least with DVR clog you get soe sort of labling system. 70% of her videos have no label.

One of the problems with not being “regular”???

DVR/Tivo constipation? Retention? Bloat! That’s it. Show bloat!

    (heh) Sorry
