[Sean Alexander] Try it for yourself at http://video.google.com/
Sean points to a new beta from Google of "Google Video". It’s pretty cool even though the content database is still pretty recent (according to the ‘about’ page it’s only been scanning shows since December).
While this is a great start, here’s what I think they need to do: When you search for a show and click on the "Upcoming Episodes" link, there needs to be a button there providing me with an RSS feed (preferably RSS-TV) with details for the show.
While this adds a nice side benefit of being able to add the upcoming shows to an aggregator (for reminders of when things are on), the real killer feature would be if I could just hit that button and have my Media Center or Tivo add it to their "To-Do" list.
If there was an RSS feed (or even XML data for it so you wouldn’t have to parse the web page) for a show, writing this up for Windows Media Center 2005 would be fairly straightforward with the MCE SDK.
Update: Another thought as I read a bit more about Yahoo’s video search. There should be an easy way to use and consume RSS feeds with the <enclosure> tag as a way to provide content for MCE. How cool would this be from inside Media Center: Search Yahoo Video (or FeedsterTV or BlogDigger), you see a list of results. You could subscribe to an RSS feed of the results as well. Click on the video/audio you’re interested in and it queues it up for download (or plays it immediately) into My Videos or My Music.

Steve, I got some more information here: http://blog.outer-court.com/archive/2005-01-25-n90.html
As for RSS — so far Google doesn’t show much signs they’re deeply into it. For example, their search results, or Google News, would benefit from RSS, but there’s not sight of it anywhere.

Google Labs strikes again with Google Video
I learn almost everything fresh and new in the world via RSS and ultimately blogs these days. Today is no different when I came across Google Lab’s new brainchild: Google Video (beta, of course). The information via the Google Video help page on the se…

Great article, they still don’t seem to have added any of these features unfortunately.
I’ve been discussing some of the extra features myself and possible future upgrades http://googlevideos.blogspot.com

Random Video Generator
Google Video today added a random video feature. On the main page, below the three video clip screen captures, there is now a link to ’similarly random videos’.
