This morning, I was surprised to see that Starbucks finally has attempted to solve the issue of their cup lids spilling all over the car.

Actually they’ve had that for a while (at least since 2001). But most of the time you have to *ask* for it.

They just figured that out, out here? Out east they’ve been using the stickers for the ground bean bags for years - even leave a roll out on the counter for them
Actually, I’d rather they use those stickers than the numbers - the numbers don’t peal off as well… at least the Bariste didn’t look too confused when I’ve asked for stickers here.
FYI, Mocha and Gingerbread latte’s need them… Peppermint Mocha, Eggnog Lattee and unflavor’d do not

The problem I’ve had with their cups is the little seam at the top of the paper. About 1/3 of the coffees I buy there drips out the side, in the car, on my hands. I wrote them a letter and got no response.

This tape/sticker thing has been around in Taiwan for more than 10 years…. if you drink the so-called Pearl Tea.
A newer design can be seen @ Vancouver B.C., the lid only opens the suck hole when your lip pressure on it. No picture of it.

i’m totally fed up with Starbucks lids. for what they charge for coffee, they can afford to switch to a different lid. They use Solo brand lids (at least here in Vancouver they do) and Solo makes one that has a travel tab on it. If you look on this site, there’s a picture of it. it’s the white lid, about the 3rd picture down on the right. http://www.solocup.com/solofoodservice/index.html
i’ve gotten that lid from a different coffee shop and it works AWSOME!!! I wish someone would petition Starbucks to switch to it.
