Check this out: Project UDAT. It’s a case mod that builds a small footprint RAID 5 fileserver using a mini-itx motherboard (so it’s almost silent).

I’ve been thinking about building something along these lines recently and would like to get as small and silent as possible (using one of the extra ATX cases I have in the garage really isn’t an option).

Perhaps it’s time to break out the extra EPIA I have and try to solve some of my storage issues.
