[SysInternals] Virtually everybody familiar with NT has at the minimum heard that there is a hidden API that NT uses internally. This API, which is called the Native API, is almost entirely hidden from view, with only a handful of its function documented in generally accessible publications.

As the document mentions, the Native API is basically used for calling OS services in a ‘controlled’ manner. It’s a really interesting read, for those that are curious.
