The term ‘cougin it‘ comes from the WSU Cougars uncanny ability to blow it in key situations (point in fact, check out this past Saturday’s game - the Cougars gave up 646 yards and the Ducks came back in the 4th quarter with 27 points to win 41-38).

Now, I have total sympathy - I grew up a New York Jets fan. While they’re having a fantastic season this year (4-0 start), they too seemed to have the ability to blow any lead - especially if the game was in December.

As I watched the Seahawks blow a 17 point lead to lose to the Rams in overtime, 33-27, I really can’t think of any other way to describe it - they ’couged it’.

Disclaimer (before my Coug friends lynch me): I don’t root for the Huskies and I don’t root for the Coug’s. As a transplant to WA, I really don’t care who wins Apple Cup. However, I do find it funny that the Coug’s haven’t won since I moved here in November of 97.

Come on. Seriously. As per your disclaimer, since you don’t root for either team, you are not allowed to rag on the cougs or the huskies either. That includes the use of the term cougin’ it.

    Enough of my lynching. :)

If there was a term doggin it or something, I would of used that too.
