Had a great time sitting on the shoreline of Lime Kiln Point Park on San Juan Island yesterday, where we saw several Orcas pods come really close. Was a pretty amazing sight, and just an awesome day.

Of course my lack of sunscreen has completely turned me into a crispy tomato.

How ironic - I was at lime kiln point *today* following the orcas (on a boat though). The best part was that I saw one huge guy *jump* out of the water seaworld-style, twice! It was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. I didn’t have the good camera with me and was focusing more on watching them than photographing them, but I did take a few: http://www.lemson.com/kc/pics/aug2004sanjuanislands/img_6554.htm

Totally agree - watching the whales in the wild (this close) is totally amazing. Great pictures, BTW!
