Lesson Learned

OK - don’t laugh. I’m not the worlds biggest fan of oatmeal (real oatmeal - the instant sugar filled ones are good), but this morning I finally decided I’d give it a go. I arrived at the office at my usual time - around 5:45am (I know, sick) and stumbled into the kitchen, and poured the oatmeal into a relatively small bowl.
I filled the bowl with milk and set the microwave for 2:30 and walked out to drop my stuff in my office. When I came back, oatmeal was literally pouring out of the bowl, all over the microwave. Apparently, it’s going to be one of those days.
Lesson: Next time, instead of having oatmeal wait for the cafe to open at 7:30 and get eggs. There’s less cleanup involved.

There’s a reason you’re not supposed to walk away from a microwave.

This is totally anecdotal, but I’ve noticed that the spill-over isn’t nearly as bad when I add sugar pre-microwave. Of course, I use water rather than milk, so it may not make any real difference.
