Ok, I really like dasBlog. I just created a ‘blogroll’ control, so I can automatically render the contents of my blogroll that was exported from RSS Bandit in an OPML file. I just drop in the new file on the server, and the page is automatically updated.

I still need to create an archive page, as well as redirect the old archive links, which I’ll probably get to tommorow.

Congrats on the move. There’s still things that I like better about Movable Type (mt-textile is probably the biggest), but I’m going to stick with dasBlog for now.

Why did you need to create a control to render your OPML? dasBlog supports OPML files natively. I have a few different ones on my site and I render them with something like:

    %radio.macros.blogroll (siteConfig/photo.opml)%

Does that not work for you?

I think I understand now why you needed the control: you wanted a separate page for the blogroll and didn’t want it on every page as part of the template.

Exactly. I don’t like the sidebar thing, so I wanted to render content on seperate pages. In fact, I just did the same thing for category archives: http://www.furrygoat.com/Archives.aspx

If you have time, please take a look at an article on How to sort an OPML file at http://weblogs.asp.net/guerchele/archive/2004/06/04/148770.aspx
