Sure enough that night on the 10 o’clock news what’s the top story? The Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal? The election? Bombings in Israel?

Nice try. It’s about a woman’s cat in Monroe, WA was tortured and hung. To further insult the viewer, Q13 has their “First on Fox” bullet point list of the important facts from the top story (”No other cats killed”, and “Reward offered”).
