D-Link DI-624 = Garbage

A few months ago, I “upgraded” from my SMC Barricade to a new D-Link DI-624 Wireless Router. Since then i’ve had nothing but IP resets, hangs and problems. Now, apparently D-Link has decided to stop supporting the “A” revision of the router, and only upgrading firmware on the B and C versions, leaving the people who first bought the product out in the cold. To me this is horrible customer support.
Yesterday, I found that D-Link has no intention to upgrade the router to the 802.11g standard, so I finally got annoyed enough to throw the router out (well, it’s sitting the closet) and move over to a Netgear WGR614. The Netgear is not only half the size of the D-Link, but gets faster speeds over wireless and offers more control over the firewall. As an added bonus, the router was on sale at Best Buy for $49 after rebates.
So long D-Link, you’ve lost a customer.
