[Brent Simmons] A good question would be: why isn’t synching already a feature of every newsreader already? It can’t be that hard, right-just read and write from a file somewhere that two copies of your newsreader can access. I mean, what’s the hold-up? You just need something like a .newsrc. No big deal, it’s an old problem that’s been solved many times before. Okay, so the rest of this post will be about the challenges in implementing synching.

Brent has a great post about syncing and RSS. I’m still waiting patiently for SharpReader to have some sort of sync facility. In fact, if it supported using the same web service interface (or FTP, file share, etc) for syncing that RSS Bandit does, I’d be one happy camper.
