After my last entry on the 2.5″ drive enclosure, I remembered reading awhile back about the Espresso Mini-PC.

This is a pretty small form factor box: 6″x4″x1.25″. While it only takes a P3-Celeron (Socket 370, which I already have a processor in the closet), it would be a pretty cool platform to install a headless version of XP Embedded or Windows 2003 Storage Server on.

Think about it: A personal, pocket file server that could also host .NET Web Services, Indigo, etc. Of course, you’d have to wire in a small 802.11b or bluetooth adapter, but that shouldn’t be to hard to connect it to the USB port.

Directron has em for $229.. Must. Resist. Geek. Urge.
