I have an extra 14gig 2.5″ drive that I pulled from an old notebook that I’ve been looking to get an external enclosure for so I can use it to do backups, shuffle it around, etc. Most of them either have USB 2.0 or 1394 connections (or both) on them. I’m surprised that I can’t find ANY that offer an Ethernet connection to use it as a Network Storage Device.

Basically I want this, minus the drive.

This enclosure also looks interesting - it has a built in CF/SM/MicroDrive/MMC/SD/MS reader to transfer pictures directly to the drive. Neat!

Ok, let’s be honest - what I’d really want is if I could find some sort of micro-case (no bigger than a PDA) that allowed me to use the drive as a personal server.
