Well, it’s an interesting dilemma. Last year, out of sheer curiosity I ‘homebuilt’ a G4 Mac. My experience with it has changed drastically though - at first, it was a curiosity - something new to play with (heck, want to see Windows XP Embedded running on OSX?). It eventually turned into the box I loaded up to download music from the Apple store, and not much else. I guess I’m a Windows user at heart.

Now that iTunes for Windows is out (and not without its own problems), I haven’t turned on the Mac once. Frankly, I spent so much of my day in .NET land, the Mac doesn’t serve much purpose other than to watch the little bouncy dock. Interesting that by launching a single application, I no longer need their platform.

So the real question: Upgrade to Panther or shoot the box to the closet.
