Back in July I mentioned that I had recently bought Rise of Nations to see if I still had the gamer in me. It’s now October and it still sits on the shelf not opened. Oh well - it would seem the gamer in me was gone. That is until yesterday.
I had to stop by the Microsoft Company Store to pick up a copy of Windows XP and was immediately surprised at the monster crowd there. There was actually a line which weaved through the entire store, down the stairs, and outside. It didn’t take long to find out what the buzz was about: Halo for the PC was in stock for the first time.
Being the sucker that I am, I waited in line for half an hour and picked up a copy. Today I ripped it open and fired it up - and all I can say is this: WHOA.
Halo is just damn fun. It looks beautiful, sounds great, and has a simplistic “kill everything” interface. Well, there goes my weekend.
