[Sam Gentile] James Avery is the latest one of us to realize that blogs is not enough and wants to go beyond it for something more. This is a good thing. I also went to this place a number of times realizing that blogging by itself is not enough.

What James is proposing is really interesting: For the most part blogging has always been about the individual. There have been some efforts where multiple blogs are aggregated into one feed, but it is still simply a grouping of individual blogs. We have been talking at work, and the idea came up that we should have topic based blogs that any number of people can post to. For example you would have a remoting blog that any number of people could post remoting related posts too. Does this sound like a listserv or newsgroup?

Personally I’ve always found the post/comment on my side model a bit fustrating - it’s hard to tell if a response is on your on weblog, or as a new post someplace else. Before becoming a complete junk-pile, to me USENet was the real place to get answers.
