[Sean Alexander] Furry Goat asks if there’s an easy way to suck metadata out of Windows Media Player 9 Series. The new Blogging Plug-in for Windows Media Player 9 Series we’re working on will enable this. We’ll have sample code in JScript, VB, and C/C++. Hoping to release it next week.
While my original query about pulling Metadata from Windows Media Player was not directly for blogging purposes, it’s really cool to see this coming in the short term, its going to open WMP up for some interesting apps. While I’ve only glanced at the WMP SDK, I’d really like to see WMP offer the same level of programmatic access (which I wouldn’t be surprised if it did already) that Apple has with iTunes.
I’m also really glad to see there might also be some sample code to do this from .NET.
