For the past few months, I’ve been aching to try some new OS. While I’d love to give Apple’s OSX a spin, I don’t really want to shell out a lot of extra cash for new hardware right now (plus my other reason ).

So, being out of the Unix world for the last 10 years, what are people’s thoughts on what to install these days: FreeBSD or Linux? (this is not meant to start some sort of flame war, just curious on people’s opinions).
