From Slashdot: [Next Generation UI's] It’s all about Pleasure. I used to derive pleasure when using my Apple, Amiga and sgi because they had a unique personality through various touches and tools that made the interface more cognicent of my existence. Windows completely lacks that interface. It’s dumb and arrogant. It’s heartless and ultimately disposable … That’s why an Open Source GUI Project who’s mandate is not just the emulation of Microsoft makes sense: something that not only improves the experience, not only makes processes more efficient, but adds Pleasure to the man-machine interface.

Overall a pretty interesting read. I’ve always felt that the interface on many PDA’s suffer in the same way the Windows UI does - they all try to emulate what’s familiar, not what’s useful, practical or pleasurable.
