Lots of buzz on OGO’s new “Pocket PC” device. It’s basically a full Windows XP machine, with screen and 10 gig HD that fits in the palm of your hand. More information about the announcement is up at CNN. Sure, this is pretty neat, but, I don’t see how it’s any better than the IBM MetaPad that was shown a few months back.

Perhaps it’s just me, but I don’t want a full Windows XP pocket-device with me for appointments, contacts, email, etc — I’ll use an IPAQ for that, which has much better battery life, and is designed for that form factor. Sure, you can’t code on it (yet), but that’s what a full keyboard on the laptop is for.

Also, found on Bryce’s weblog was a link to a pretty new cool micro-camera known as the Cubik. Check it out: it’s a 1.3 million pixel CMOS camera that can store 50 1280×1024 pictures.
