Well, finally back from the Web Services Development Conference, and I am more certain than ever that .NET is here to stay. .NET is not only a set of class libraries (and man, there are a TON), it features the incredible new C# language, ASP.NET, the ingenious CLR, and Web Services. If you don’t want to choke up the cash for the recently released Visual Studio.NET, you can always get started with .NET by downloading and installing the free .NET Platform SDK. If you need to run .NET applications on your target machine or server, it needs to have the .NET Redistributable installed.

Check out Microsoft’s GotDotNet web site for more information about the future of Internet software development.

In other news, it looks like I will be starting work soon on my second book. I know that I said I would never write another one again, but the topic is too compelling to resist, so after much deliberation, I’ve decided to put my heart and soul into it. More information coming soon on this as the details get finalized.

Finally just for Liz, I thought I would give the Jayhawks a big ole’ Rock Chalk on the road to the final four. Now, if she could only get this excited about football.
