Lots of going’s on in the world of Microsoft Embedded devices lately.

Many people really don’t yet see the big picture of how “embedded” will change the everything from home electronics to your coffee maker. You might want to jump over to Microsoft’s embedded web center to see what’s been happening, and some information on how it impact your world. So, what’s new? Back in November, MS announced an “embedded” version of Windows XP. This allows OEM’s (and even end users) to put together their own customized and tailored versions of Windows XP. Typically, XPE is used for larger form factors, such as kiosks or server appliances where XP application compatibility is a must.

This January at the Consumer Electronics Show, Microsoft has released Windows CE.NET (formally known as Talisker). This next generation of Windows CE promises to deliver a feature rich operating environment for smart mobile devices with smaller footprints, such as phones and PDA’s.
